Last summer I was asked to help raise money for a local hospital by busking in the high street. The event organisers asked me if I had any examples of me playing solo and I realised that I didn't. Not even a single second of music to show for 30+ years of playing acoustic covers of my favourite songs!
So I decided to put that right and having noticed how my singing always sounds better in the bathroom I decided to set up the mike in there.
The first song recorded is "Withered and Died" by Richard & Linda Thompson. I saw on Twitter that it was his 70th birthday today so that seemed appropriate. The original version can be found on the album "I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight"
Everything is recorded live to the laptop and so far all songs have been done in one take. A self-imposed rule is no effects or studio trickery permitted, except panning and adding a little extra reverb.
Updated April 2021: What Do I Get? recorded as above except for "tricky guitar solo" overdubbed later.
This album is going to be an ongoing process with more songs being added as I get round to recording them.
